[Web-cyradm] LDAP accounts / authentication

Hi everyone.

I've been searching info about LDAP-support in web-cyradmin, and
found the only one we all already know, which in fact makes use of
mysql as a backend for LDAP. Nothing wrong with that solution, I just
find it bit akward. I'm planning to implement feature for web-
cyradmin, that user authentication could be done via actual LDAP and
still store everything else in mysql. I like the idea that userbase
is in LDAP and that password change could be done via LDAP, no matter
if that is in webmail-program, cyr-webadmin, web-groupware etc. LDAP
is after all, very standard way to authenticate. I plan to implement
this feature so, that it would be easy to swich on and off. All-in-
mysql is for sure far more simple to set up, and I think most of web-
cyradmin are quite happy with it.

Do you have any ideas about this? Things that I should consider,
features you think would be useful? And if some of you are already
implementing or planning to implement this, please reply.

  Mikko
