Aha, I'm also assuming you're using the sarge cyrus imapd package?  That
package is too old, in fact debian doesn't have any packages for
anything above 2.1.  In order to use user at domain.com usernames you need
at least 2.2.x.  I use debian myself and I have 3 such setups using the
FQUN all of which I compile cyrus imap myself.  Just follow what I
initially said, dont try to use the loginrealms stuff.
