hello,
i want to first say thanks for the excellent
functionality that is provided by web-cyradm. i was
able to use Luc's howto to get a fully working install
of smtp and imap in about 10 minutes! compare that to
ms exchange setup! many thanks.
now, i would like to make things a little bit better
for my users some of whom have very long names and
complicated email addresses. i want to give them
addressbook support. it seems like LDAP is the right
choice for providing addressbook information across
many email clients. [ i wish squirrelmail also had
ldap for addressbook capability ]. ideally, each time
i create a user using web-cyradm, it would be very
good if this user information could be stored in the
ldap directory. or as an alternative, perhaps there
could be an ldap server that queried the mysql server
in order to obtain this information.
since i don't know much about this, i think it'd be
best to consult you all. you are the experts. i would
like to know your opinions and advice on the matter.
all and any thoughts are welcome. if you were adding
addressbook support for your users, what would you
recommend doing.
thanks,
melkor
